Your Hosts
Every successful bed & breakfast requires a talented group of innkeepers, and Chateau Bourbon is no exception. Family owned & operated, our crew is perfect collection of warmhearted, hard-working folks. Our goal is to put the ‘fun’ in ‘function’ to give you more than just a stay…it’s an experience!
Missy Hillock “The Boss Lady”
Missy is the brainchild behind Chateau Bourbon and has worked hard to make her dream come to life. She has always had a passion for travel and during her adventures became convinced that she would end up hosting travelers in her own lodging business someday. Missy is a smart, silly, charismatic woman, and as a doctoral-level psychologist, she naturally understands and connects with people. Though she runs a tight ship, she puts her heart and soul into her role as owner, chef & guest manager. We pretty much call her the “hostess with the mostest”!

John Hillock “The House Hero”
John is the only guy in our dream team but we couldn’t ask for a better one! Funny, light-hearted, and a killer smile…John is the epitome of a welcoming host. John keeps Chateau Bourbon functional and looking beautiful by operating as our resident handyman. His muscles come in handy for carrying luggage for guests, too! As a career fireman, he’s logged plenty of hours in the kitchen over the years. You can catch him serving breakfast each morning & mixing up our evening happy hour cocktails. Having spent 5 years in the Air Force, John is also an expert bed maker.

Carol Thomas “The Marvelous Matriarch”
Carol is Missy’s mother, and as an onsite resident, she is always here watching over the property.. We laughingly refer to her as the “ghost of Chateau Bourbon” since she’s not often seen unless she’s locking up at night. Carol works full-time in healthcare finance and in her free time enjoys knitting/crocheting and painting…every painting in the house is her creation, and you’d be amazed what she can make with a ball of yarn and a few hours to spare! She’s not too shabby in the kitchen either. She and Missy worked closely together to create some of the culinary staples here at the inn. She’s responsible for some of our most-loved items, such as our drunken cherries, bourbon granola, and bourbon truffles!

Honey
The smallest and definitely the quirkiest of our crew, Honey is our beloved canine companion, a 13-year-old “Shorkie”. She is a smart, friendly, fun little girl who brings companionship and comic relief to the guests at Chateau Bourbon. She’s gotten to be hard of hearing in her old age, so she may not come when called – but this won’t stop her from bringing you one of her favorite toys or rubbing up against you for a little lovin’.
Reese "12/17/2007-8/30/2021"
Reese, our beloved girl, has crossed over the rainbow bridge. She was absolutely adored by all who met her, and she loved her role as junior innkeeper and leader of the ‘welcoming committee’. Reese was truly one-of-a-kind and had the most wonderful personality. She was social, playful, loving, and as smart as a whip. Reese enjoyed showing off her talents such as high-fives, especially during happy hour when treats were in sight. As an actress, Reese played “Toto” in three productions of the “The Wizard of Oz” where she stole the show each night. Her favorite scene was devouring the hotdog off of Professor Marvel’s campfire stick (YUM).
Reese delighted in life, with golf cart rides, ice cream, outdoor exploring, and long belly rubs among her favorite things. Reese stole everyone’s heart, and a piece of our hearts are permanently broken without her.
